BBB National Torch Award

BBB torch award

The coveted BBB National Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics attracts over a thousand entries from national and local businesses at all levels.

BBBs conduct local competitions, forwarding the winning entries to the Council of Better Business Bureaus for consideration for the National Torch Awards.

These awards are presented to companies in recognition of their outstanding commitment to exceptional standards in relationships to their consumers, employees, suppliers, competitors, shareholders, and surrounding communities.

The BBB National Torch Award is helping to illuminate the importance of corporate conscience and responsibility to upholding a fair and honest marketplace. Each year, one national winner is selected from each of four size categories by an independent panel of judges with expertise in business ethics.

The 2001 Better Business Bureau National Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics will be awarded to four companies: Category I (1,000 employees or more); Category II (100 to 999 employees); Category III (11 to 99 employees) and Category IV (1 to 10 employees).

Presented annually since 1996, the BBB National Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics honors businesses that demonstrate exceedingly high standards of behavior toward customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and communities; adherence to truthful and honorable advertising and sales practices; and, an earned reputation for noteworthy contributions to their industries and the communities in which they do business.

The Torch Award is designed to promote not only the importance of ethical business practices, but the willingness and efforts made by outstanding businesses to ensure that our country's marketplace remains fair and honorable for all Americans.

On Monday, October 1, 2001, Packer Thomas representatives attended a luncheon and presentation ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee where they received the 2001 B.B.B. National Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
